LifeMark Health Announces Vestibular Rehabilitation Programs at Two Locations

Physiotherapy on Kingsway and LifeMark Health Institute announced today that they have Therapists trained, and the equipment in place, to assess and treat patients suffering from dizziness and balance problems. There has been an explosion of research in recent years, resulting in a dramatic improvement in treatment and results. Vestibular Rehabilitation involves medically-proven techniques, and results are often rapid, or even immediate with some conditions.

Dizziness and balance problems are among the top three reasons that people consult their Doctor. Symptoms of Vestibular problems might include, but are not limited to: dizziness, vertigo, sensitivity to motion, imbalance or falling, difficulty focusing, and nausea or vomiting. Secondary complications might involve anxiety, depression, fatigue, deconditioning, headaches, or seclusion.

Our nationwide program is directed by Sheelah Woodhouse, BScPT who branched into Vestibular Rehabilitation from orthopedic Physiotherapy 13 years ago. In 2000 she started one of Canada’s first private practices exclusively dedicated to Vestibular Rehabilitation: The Dizziness and Balance Centre, which has grown steadily and is now part of LifeMark Health. She has given much education to the public and medical community about Vestibular Rehabilitation and is now committed to training and supporting the staff of LifeMark Health.
